Disaster Relief: Feeding the Hungry in Honduras

Missoula Medical Aid sent 10 thousand dollars to our partner, Save the Children Honduras, to pay for the following activities:

150 farners received fertilizer to increase production of basic grains. This cost about 40 dollars per farm.
4 rural bakeries, run by a total of 28 women (who are heads of their household) received monetary support to expand their existing operations. The money paid for cooking supplies, tortilla presses, stoves, and coolers. Approximately 2000 dollars was used to support these 4 small businesses.
1816 school-age childred received a toothbrush and toothpaste, and instructions from local professionals as to how to use them. This cost approximately 1 dollar per child.
The remaining 584 dollars was used to pay for materials for hygiene, and transport.
