First and foremost, thank you for your continued generosity. With your support, the Digital Skills and Safety (DAS) project is creating positive change every day in the lives of public-school students and building the foundation for a brighter future. Together with 63 other donors, we have raised $6,143 of $49,800 for this mission.
In July 2021, we introduced 153 public school students at Ansarudeen Primary School, Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, Nigeria to digital skills and online safety.
The students learnt how to identify information they should not share online, how to protect themselves from phishing and detect fake websites and what to do when they feel uncomfortable with a message from a stranger. The students were also introduced to digital electronics with our Arduino electronics kits. They learnt how digital electronics is the foundation for modern-day technology, how to build simple projects from scratch. They also received electronics kits for more practice.
Your donation helped us ignite a love for technology in these kids and we are very grateful for this.
The “Digital Access and Safety Project (DASP)", primarily targeted at public and low fee-paying schools, aims to increase awareness and knowledge on how to use the internet safely and safeguard their identity and address bullying and harassment online. It also introduces and explains to students how to filter/verify internet content and experiences while also enhancing their practical digital literacy levels.
We are hoping to raise $43, 657 more to upskill and equip a minimum of 500 students. Please consider a little more support. Also share this with more partners. Thank you so much for your invaluable support!
With gratitude,
TechQuest Team
