On March 5th 2022, Afghanistan Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AWCCI) held an event to mark the International Women's Month by bringing over 100 participants including Afghan busineswomen from more than 15 provinces of the country.
The event was the 4th National Women's Entrepreneurship Summit and the 7th Bibi Khadija Annual Award. The speakers of the event were Ms. Afsana Rahimi Chaiperson of AWCCI, Ms. Rina Amiri, US special envoy to Afghan Women, Girls and Human Rights, Mr. Abdallah, Resident Representative UNPD Afghanistan and Mr. AbdulWahab Alkebsi, Managing Director, Program for Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE). All of the speakers emphasized the importance of Afghan businesswomen’s role to the well-being and the economic development of Afghanistan. In this event one honorary award and 10 competitive awards were presented.
As part of the Summit's agenda the Made by Afghan Women's Online Sales platform was launched. The platform's construction started in January 2022 and will be completed end of March 2022. Women business owners will be trained to start the use of the online sales during the months from April 2022 onward.
