Dear Friends,
We are happy to report that our project has been fully funded. We were very fortunate to receive a generous grant from a foundation that completed the funding to purchase an Infant ABR, as well as the other elements of this project.
Thanks to the grant and the support of caring donors like you, we expect to acquire the Infant ABR equipment in the next few weeks. Our staff will then be trained and we will be set to become a Diagnostic Center before the start of summer. In fact, we will be one of only two Centers in Washington, DC that accept Medicaid. We will waste no time getting the word out to agencies, hospitals and doctors so they can refer infants, reducing their wait times for diagnosis and intervention.
We will share success stories of the infants with hearing loss who we are able to help in the coming months. In the meantime, we are getting ready to launch a new project: a summer program for economically disadvantaged and minority children with hearing loss in DC, providing them with intensive language, speech and literacy intervention.
We hope that you can continue to support our efforts to help children with hearing loss reach their full potential.
Thank you on behalf of Chattering Children's clinicians, staff and especially children we serve.
