Your contributions to our disability programme have significantly improved the lives of individuals and families navigating the challenges of living with disabilities. With your support, we have created practical solutions that restore independence, dignity, and hope.
Harish's life changed dramatically at the age of 22 when a tragic accident left him with many challenges. With multiple surgeries and hospitalisation, Harish returned home not having the strength to walk. It took years for Harish to adapt to this new reality, especially losing his enjoyable job. But with his parents' support and his determination, he slowly rebuilt his life.
Through our programme, we built Harish a disability-friendly washroom, reducing his dependency on his parents and giving him the freedom he longed for.
Harish uses his technical skills to repair grinders, liquidisers, and TV dish antennas. Seeing Harish and his parents smile through their challenges fills us with immense pride and gratitude for donors like you who make such transformations possible.
Mangalamma walked to school every day until the 5th grade, even with a disability. But her life took a sudden turn when she had brain fever, which left her unable to walk. Now confined to a small box-like space, she relies on others to move her. Despite her challenges, Mangalamma's spirit remains unbroken.
Thanks to your support, we built her a disability-friendly washroom, easing some of the difficulties in her daily life. Mangalamma has channelled her creativity into beautiful Mehendi art, adorning the hands of women in her community. Her intricate designs bring joy to others and remind her of her inner strength and determination to live meaningfully.
These stories of Harish and Mangalamma are just a glimpse of the transformation your support has had on many lives. Disability-friendly infrastructure like washrooms may seem like small changes, but they restore independence and dignity.
