Telling meaningful stories is the first step toward change. Bringing awareness to abuses that might be overlooked is paramount to what we do. We are deeply concerned about the impact on women's health care as we approach the end of the US presidential election campaign and Election Day on November 5th. More than ever, we are finding ways we can make an impact.

The 2024 election could significantly impact women's health care. A Trump administration may reduce Medicaid spending and limit postpartum coverage, affecting low-income women’s access to essential health services. However, a Harris administration would likely expand Medicaid, with a focus on maternal health and social needs, like housing and nutrition. Reproductive health care, especially abortion and contraception, remains a crucial issue. Trump could limit emergency abortion access and medication abortions, whereas Harris would maintain protections and strengthen access to contraception, including over-the-counter options. Leading up to election day, both administrations may continue addressing maternal health differences, particularly for Black and Indigenous women.

There are ways we can all make an impact leading up to the election. We can:

  • Donate to help those seeking abortion care
  • Donate to independent abortion clinics
  • Learn more about abortion laws in your state
  • Find out where all your lawmakers stand on abortion rights
  • Tell Congress to take immediate action to protect abortion access:
    no matter the administration

3G continues to support reproductive health and rights through the power of film and outreach campaigns. For information about the issues we support and to watch our films, please visit our website, 3generations.org, follow us on social media, and connect with us via email by subscribing to our mailing list. We thank you for your support; we could not continue hearing their stories and demanding change without YOU.
