June 2017, saw the beginning of yet another year at RASA- Theatre Arts Learning Centre for Inclusive cultural education.
At the Mandavalli centre , facilitators spent the first half of the month going over each and every goal of adults with special needs. Individual lesson plans were created keeping the NATYA aspects in mind.
This centre has a strength of 22 young adults with differing abilities - they were split into Srishti Earth and Srishthi Water so that individualised attention can be given to each one.
The following is a small list of the activities that have been done in the past three months.
1. PAACHAKA(COOKING)- One of the primary skills required. the group learnt to make a salad.- fireless cooking.
2. MAITRYAM (FRIENDSHIP )- This aspect of the human nature was strengthened by taking the group on a team visit to the mall. They really enjoyed the outing.
3. KREEDA- (GAME..). what is life if not a spot of game thrown in every now and then? basket ball games were introduced and taught at the centre.
4.NRTYA-( DANCE) structured dance with all its goodness and ability to improve posture, body awareness and body image was done and strengthened.
5. YOGA- (UNIFYING BODY AND MIND) , This art is taught reguarly at the centre.
6. KALA and LALITKALA -(ART) is done and encouraged on a daily basis.
