It fills us with joy to inform you about the progress of our campaign “Healthy Nutrition for 120 children in Oaxaca”. Your generosity and constant support have been fundamental to achieve important advances in promoting the rescue of traditional foods from indigenous communities.  

How we have used your donation:

• As part of International Food Day, we presented the recipe book “Aventuras Gastronómicas: Al Rescate de Platillos Tradicionales Oaxaqueños” in Ixtlán de Juárez, an event in which 44 children participated.
• We held a regional workshop on the practical implementation of solid waste management and its use as a source of income and development, in which 71 municipal authorities participated.
• We held two presentations on “Healthy Food Environments in Schools”, which addressed the guidelines for the implementation of the Law for the Prohibition of Ultraprocessed Foods, with the participation of 35 mothers and fathers of families.
• We also carried out 3 puppet theater presentations on climate change, aimed at promoting positive actions in the communities. These activities involved 470 elementary school children, promoting learning in a fun and creative way. 

Next Steps

We will continue to conduct workshops and play activities on nutrition for children in more communities and schools. Our goal is to expand our outreach and strengthen nutrition education, ensuring that more and more children, mothers and fathers have access to valuable information about healthy eating habits.

Dear Allies:

We are pleased to share with you the progress of our campaign " Healthy Nutrition for 120 Children of Oaxaca". Thanks to your generosity, commitment and continued support, we have made significant progress in promoting the rescue of traditional foods from indigenous communities, with the goal of reducing the consumption of ultra-processed products to prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.

How we use your donation: 8 healthy eating workshops have been held, benefiting a total of 180 children from primary schools in 3 indigenous communities. In the framework of Children's Day, we organized playful activities such as snakes and ladders, memoramas and workshops, involving preschools. In addition, a recipe booklet was prepared with the aim of rescuing traditional Oaxacan dishes, with the active participation of children from indigenous communities. A puppet theater presentation on climate change was also carried out, with the intention of raising awareness of the importance of acting on this global problem and promoting positive actions in the  communities, in which 69 children from elementary schools participated.
