Creative Thinkers Lab enables young people to transform the things that make them different - into the things that make them amazing.
Our year began with an invitation for the Lab to take part in an UNITED NATIONS initiative with students from Serbia, India, Malawi, Belarus, and Germany. Two of our students, Marita and Annie quickly excelled by teaming up to create, the first online database for sustainable warriors that shares innovative solutions to climate change challenges in the Caribbean.
And while the world-wide lockdown continued to keep schools closed, we were able to remain open with a project designed specifically to help students develop creative thinking skills needed for collaborating from home.
Our class of young Creative Thinkers, Nyla, Ariane, Okalani, Michelle, Tahrea, Tyrese and Yohance produced six soundtracks and videos while collaborating with each other from their homes.
During this cycle's interactive CREATIVE TALKS, the students had more opportunities to collaborate with Creative Thinkers from around the world like; Grammy Award winning Producer/Engineer, Deepu Panjwani, Visual Artist/Photographer/Filmmaker, Jaryd Niles and DJ/Producer, Ian Hayes.
And outside of our Lab, our students are succeeding with improved school reports and achievements. Like Ariane, 14 winning the top prize in a fashion design competition, and Tahrea, 14 receiving the most improved overall performance assessments by his school and Zakai, 15 being recruited by the Cultural Foundation in Barbados and Nyla, 18 earning a scholarship into a language program.
Since starting the Creative Thinkers after-school program less than a year ago, the number of students and teachers has more than doubled, which has strengthened our belief that this revolutionary program will continue to grow and eventually play an important role in nurturing a generation of Creative Leaders around the Caribbean.
Thanks again for your donations, and we are looking forward to your continued support in our mission to Empowering Creative Kids in the Caribbean.
Best wishes,
