We are very happy to announce that we started the construction work of our Summer Camp and Training Center in Provence, to be ready to host our first camps in July 2022. Last June, 11th, we gathered young people, partners and staff on site to celebrate the kick-off of the construction work.
In France, 1 child out of 4 doesn't go on holidays. The health crisis increased this inequality, especially for families and children from disadvantaged neighborhoods. We are convinced that holidays are necessary for children to grow and dream and create happy memories for the future. Holidays are cherished moments where the youth can discover new places and nature, open their mind and create their own path. This is the reason why Sport dans la Ville decided to invest in a Summer Camp and Training Center in Provence, to host every year over 1,000 young people.
"We are really happy to start the construction work of our Summer Camp and Training Center in Provence. It is going to be a special place for thousands of youths across France and all over the world, to fulfill their dreams, grow together and become the young adults of tomorrow" Philippe Oddou, Executive Director, Sport dans la Ville.
Our Summer Camp and Training Center will allow participants to discover nature, to learn about healthy food habits, to respect and protect the environment, to meet youth from all over the world, and to access guidance in their orientation choices and training in hospitality jobs and camp counseling.
"It's completely crazy to realize that we are going to spend our holidays in this amazing place", said Idriss, enrolled at Sport dans la Ville.
