Sport dans la Ville is French leading not-profit serving kids from underserved neighborhoods through sports and job-readiness training. We wish to build a Summer Camp and Training Center in Provence (south of France) to provide 1,100 youths a place to live unforgettable moments. Thanks to our sister organizations from all over the world, we will offer unique experiences to our youth, helping them escape their everyday life, make them believe in themselves and give them tools to succeed in life.
Young people at Sport dans la Ville come from disadvantaged neighborhoods where economic difficulties are multiple. In 2020, the health crisis has deepened inequalities in those neighborhoods and increased unemployment and poverty rates. Over 45% of French people don't go on holidays, and it is unfortunately the case of Sport dans la Ville's youth: 48% of children from low-income families don't go on holidays compared to 12% of children from high-income families.
Our summer camp and training center in Provence will offer of young people an unique place to live and learn: sports practice, social and emotional learning, health and well-being, respect of nature and environment, job trainings, boot-camps for NEETS and entrepreneurs. We will also host over 100 teenagers from our sister organizations abroad (USA, UK, Brazil) to promote cultural differences, openmindedness and create life-changing memories.
Our summer camp and training center will offer to 1,100 young people from all over the world unique moments of discovery, sports, creativity, social-emotional learning and personal development. These activities promote mutual respect, solidarity, day-to-day commitments and team spirit for a successful start to the new school year. We will also help young adults gain professional skills (camp counselors, hospitality industry, entrepreneurship) to succeed in their career path.
