REPLICATING THE SUCCESS OF SUKARYA: CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Since 1998 Sukarya has been working successfully on the Maternal and child health services which are essential for the overall development of the mother and child by promoting healthy living and preventive measures for a better health. As a holistic approach to solve all issues related to Maternal Child Health & Nutrition, Sukarya has worked substantially on educating and empowering slum children and adolescent girls.
Infant mortality & maternal deaths due to malnutrition have remained as an unresolved global health issue for a long time. The success of Sukarya in tackling these issues can be replicated anywhere in India or the world by using the working model of its projects and resources which could be the path-breaking initiatives taken by other NGOs.
In the last two decades, around 1.2 million NGOs were registered, but only a small fraction are fully operational because of lack of funds, efficient leadership and skilled manpower, despite having great passion and determination to serve others.
Having said that Sukarya proposes an exclusive trainining & development center with an objective to build the capacities of NGO's & CBO's serving in the area of Maternal and Child Health and other associated issues. The centre of excellence offers to share its learning's in a structured and systematic manner by providing following trainings/ workshops
• Thematic training on Maternal & Child Health
• Project Implementation
• Behavioral Change & Communication
• Institutional development (planning, policy framework, organisational structure, vision & mission, guiding principles etc).
