As promised and shared with you previously, we successfully implemented the Women Friendly Services project in Upper Egypt.
We successfully delivered a Physicians' training in 6 days, with 4 days dedicated to on-the-job training. And another Nurses' training extended to 5 days, including 2 days of on-the-job training.
The training programs were successfully delivered to 37 medical providers nominated by the Ministry in Qena governorate, structured as follows:
12 physicians representing various units across the districts underwent a comprehensive training program spanning six days. The initial two days comprised sessions covering topics such as reproductive health, family planning, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Subsequently, the physicians were assigned to three primary care centers for four days of on-the-job training. This practical component aimed to complement their training programs and acquire approval from the Ministry to provide family planning services to beneficiaries.
Also, 25 nurses from different sectors participated in a focused training program spanning five days. The first three days sessions covered essential areas including reproductive health, family
planning, and GBV, providing nurses with vital knowledge skills to enhance their service delivery in family planning. This was followed by two days of on-the-job training on how to assess beneficiaries and provide them with counseling through role plays and practical training on vital signs measurements and breast examination for breast cancer screening.
An Instagram broadcast was created to provide insightful and accessible information to women and girls and to increase interaction with beneficiaries, especially teenage girls and providing a platform for communication and access to necessary knowledge.
Finally, a collaboration with a gamification expert was developed to create the concept and initial game ideas for the first of its kind game on reproductive health.
We are thankful for your continuous support and we cannot wait to share with you our next steps!
Stay tuned.
