During its implementation in the public healthcare centers in Egypt, the Women Friendly Services (WFS) project seeks not only to promote the quality and accessibility of the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, but to identify the main challenges that women face regarding their rights in healthcare system.
Based on practical observations and assessments for the services provided to the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) survivors , the WFS project identified a huge gap between the efforts done on a national level to combat violence against women including the establishment of a clear , systematic, detailed referral system or a national track for the survivors of it; and the practical implementation which is still lagging behind. In reality, there is still a lot more to be done to ensure the effectiveness of this pathway and its capacity to meet expectations.
Strongly believing that supportive policy briefs and research are as important as working on ground directly with beneficiaries, WFS project issued a Policy Brief on the Referral Pathway for Gender- Based violence survivors. In Which we cover the most crucial challenges in this regard and present recommendations on how to face them on the governmental and non-governmental levels, with the existing resources and in the most effective way.
You can visit the Policy Brief by clicking Here.
By supporting the project, you will enable us to expand the implementation of WFS in more public health centers in Egypt, providing women with the services and the support they need (psychological and medical). As well as, working more and presenting innovative solutions to end the GBV cycle.
