A Wave of Support

A Rural Clinic Receiving Supplies
A Rural Clinic Receiving Supplies

Equipping rural clinics and frontline healthcare workers is a big priority in the fight against COVID-19. We're very pleased to report that we've been able to equip five rural clinics with personal protective equipment, infrared thermometers, sanitiser, portable handwashing stations and cleaning supplies.

In partnership with local income generation groups, 3000 fabric facemasks have been produced to protect community members from transmission via droplets, while at the same time generating much-needed income for several groups in our partner communities.

549 Tippy Taps, along with a two-month supply of soap, have been distributed to households and schools where running water is not available. These are allowing hundreds of people to wash their hands regularly, further preventing transmission of the virus. Our goal is to provide at least 1000 of these Tippy Taps by the end of the year.

The first 15 households have each received several semi-scavenging chickens, which will now produce eggs and meat to improve the severe food insecurity that communities in Zimbabwe face. These fist recipients are the most vulnerable in our communities - the elderly, child-headed households and single parents with many hungry mouths to feed. There are still hundreds of families in need of this support.

Thank you for making this support possible! We still have a long way to go, so please consider sharing this project with your friends and families.
