Imagine the impact of COVID-19. Currently, university and college learners just like learners in lower education levels are affected COVID-19. Unfortunately, A good number of learners in these institutions live under difficulty conditions as they are not given both fee and stipend allowances in Tanzania. Makutano ya Wajasiriamali works to train and empower them with entrepreneurship skills to able to run small scale home based entrepreneurship income generating activities to meet costs needed.
There's a complete lack of entrepreneurship training and empowerment options for university and college entrepreneurs as over the past few months the world and Tanzania have shut down in response to COVID-19. Learners who lack loans to fully cover for tuition and stipend allowance have been seriously retarded by COVID-19 economic hardships and frustrations. So what should 99% of these entrepreneurs do?
We train and empower university and college learner entrepreneurs in Tanzania to establish and run home-based small scale entrepreneurship income generating activities including, establishing home based vegetable gardens, home based chicken rearing, local natural fruit canning and selling as well as marketing and business skills. By engaging in such activities, these university and college learners generate income and cover campus costs.
The project will educate 200 university and college learners, helping them rise out of poverty, which will provide for themselves, their families and community well-being. Educated university and college learners go on to educate their colleagues and other community members and benefit their community's economy. The projects will also help to supply food in terms of vegetables, eggs, chicken meat and juice to the community.
