Continuing Malala's Dream - Educating Pakistan

The development of education is very much a nation building factor which will resultantly affect the country’s development. The problems of female education interfere with the betterment of its future. This hindrance could be catered by improving the education policy of Pakistan.

Based on a report there are 22.84 Million children out of school. Unesco´s latest published figures suggest Pakistan has the second highest number of out of school children globally after Nigeria.

To top it all off, we have gender inequality issues in education. Out of the 5.06 million children not going to primary school, 60% are girls. According to recent country statistics, compared to a girl, a boy in Pakistan has a 15% higher chance of going to primary school.

The changing time and the increasing need of advancement in the system of education in Pakistan demands more and more attention towards the educational programs available in the country. With that being said, it is still evident that the country suffers from having reasonable amount of educational resources distributed among all its areas. Pakistan continues to be among developing countries and its literacy rate still is not good enough to pace up the progress of the nation.

The NUR Outreach program has been educating children of all ages since 1985 with a vision to act as a catalyst of change to bring about socio- economic development of under-served communities, through an integrated approach to healthcare, education and economic empowerment.

Fatima Memorial Hospital and NUR Foundation’s core function is to provide healthcare and education and through NUR Foundation, we are providing education to the non-affording children of all ages in form for formal and non-formal schools. These schools are established in such areas where education seemed unreachable.

Most importantly, foundation has been laid for a college building in order to provide more and more programs to the needy. Our valued donors are requested to help us build a college for the community so that these children can complete their education. Most of these children have to quit education before high school as there are no colleges providing support. We have taken this initiative and through your donations, this dream can also come true.
