Progress Report: Empowering Children with Disabilities through Rehabilitation and Vocational Programs
This report entails a brief overview of the progress in some of the projects funded by GlobalGiving in the month of July. On behalf of compassionate hands for the disabled we are immensely grateful for your generous support, which has played a pivotal role in enabling us to continue our mission of empowering children with disabilities through rehabilitation and vocational programs. Your unwavering commitment to our cause has made a significant difference in the lives of these children.
Through your donation we were able to purchase food products which involved fruits and vegetables necessary for boosting the children immunity and also for their generally growth and development. We were also able to purchase some resources and equipment to introduce a new vocational training program which involved making of creative making of paper products which include envelopes and parcels.

Vocational Training Program Update: 

• Creative Parcels and Envelopes Project: Thanks to your generous donation, we were able to procure the necessary materials and resources for our vocational training program, which focused on teaching children with disabilities the art of making creative parcels and envelopes using paper. This project has not only been a source of creative expression for our beneficiaries but has also equipped them with valuable skills for potential future employment.
• Training Sessions: Over the past six months, we conducted 24 training sessions, with an average attendance of 18 children per session. These sessions were designed to be inclusive and adapted to each child's specific needs.
• Skill Development: The children have shown remarkable progress in their paper crafting skills. Many of them have developed a keen eye for design, attention to detail, and the ability to create beautiful, marketable products.
• Product Showcase: We organized a successful product showcase event, where the children proudly displayed their handmade parcels and envelopes. The event received positive feedback from attendees, and some of the products were even sold, generating a small income for the children involved.

Impact on Beneficiaries:

1. Enhanced Self-Esteem and Confidence: Through this vocational program, we have witnessed a significant boost in the self-esteem and confidence of our beneficiaries. They now believe in their abilities and are more eager to engage with society.
2. Improved Motor Skills: Many of the children had physical disabilities that hindered their fine motor skills. The hands-on nature of the paper crafting has helped them improve their dexterity and coordination.
3. Social Integration: Our beneficiaries have begun to develop friendships and a sense of belonging within the group. This has led to improved social skills and a more positive outlook on life.

Future Plans: 

While we have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done. Your continued support will enable us to:

1. Expand our vocational training program to reach more children with disabilities in our community.
2. Provide ongoing mentorship and job placement support for those who wish to pursue careers in the creative arts or related fields.
3. Organize more exhibitions and sales events to showcase the children's work and generate income to sustain the program.
