First we would wish to appreciate Lydia and friends fundraising through GlobalGiving fundraising campaign. With the COVID19 pandemic, the children were indoor throughout for safety measures. This reduced socialization with the external world, however, no one was infected. We thank God. Despite the trying seasons economical challenges, we tried to maintain a normalcy for them.
With the GlobalGiving funds came in new hope. The hope to create food security and provision of basic needs. We injected funds to our Rehema Farms (rehema is swahili for compassionate), seeing clean water for the children and by extention, the community, the greenhouse and poultry. The children will participate in the activities of the farm as lifeskills.
The funds donated were directed to support sustainable projects in compassionate hands for the disabled known as Rehema Farms. Below is the budget as to how the funds were subdivided.
Water purifier and atm water point 510,000Ksh / 4,703Usd
Dairy and poultry feeds 150,000Ksh / 1,383Usd
Greenhouse seedlings and pesticides 30,000Ksh / 277Usd
Chicks layers (from kenchic) 40000Ksh / 369Usd

WATER PROJECT (Rehema Waters)
In this area we were able to purchase and install a reverse osmosis water purifier which is able to convert salty water into pure water friendly for human consumption. The project kicked off two weeks ago and attached are the pictures.
DAIRY PROJECT
In this area we were able to purchase dairy and poultry feed stock to boost production for the next one month. Below are pictures of the ongoing project.
POULTRY PROJECT
Additionally in this area we were able to add the number of layer chicks we are rearing. We purchased 400 quality layer chick from kenchic Kenya and below are pictures of the first batch delivered.
We were able to make banners customized for our project to be able to advertise ourselves widely and create awareness about our home and what we are about and also be able to market ourselves in social media platforms to increase support for the children.
This far we are hopeful and we wish to keep more work in our Rehema Farms to see it grow and become the sustainable projects for the home.
