Since our last report, the walls have been completed for our library, we've hosted study abroad students and community members at the library grounds for a community event, and we've continued to look for grant opportunities to complement the other fundraising efforts we have been using to build our library. This library is highly anticipated by community members of all ages and especially among children and youth who currently do not have access to books or technology in their home or rural school settings.
Our next step for construction is to add a roof to our library. This is a big expense so we are working to raise money in various ways such as our annual virtual 5k that just ended on October 21st. We always welcome individual donations. Additionally, if you are part of an organization that might wish to make a corporate contribution, want to organize your own fundraiser to benefit the Collective for Orphan Care and Education, or if you have skills in grant seeking and application and want to volunteer some of your time, please reach out to us at info@cocekenya.org as we would love to learn more about you and opportunities to partner together.
