In 2024, we distributed over 70,000 books directly to children and through school and community libraries. We have so far created and supported 260 libraries across the country, putting us at the forefront of supporting libraries in Uganda. We are adding 50 libraries annually.
Through the libraries and books project, we have seen a 90% improvement in reading skills, a 44% improvement in academic performance, and, most exciting of all, a 46% increase in excitement about going to school. Teachers also report preparing better lessons because of access to materials.
All this has been possible because of your continued support throughout the year. In 2025, we are looking forward to continuing this trend, creating another 50 libraries and consolidating the existing libraries through visits and catalytic reading events. Making Reading Famous.
