Submission of Support Items To Cohort 2 Beneficiaries
The Community Green Economy Project aims to improve the livelihoods of rural households by equipping them with skills in snail farming, mushroom farming, and black soap making. Moreover, the project focus to create sustainable business opportunity for the unemployed.
The project seeks to reduce the dependent rate in rural areas by training women between the age of 17 - 35. After successfully conducting of hard skills and soft skills training, the next phase of the project is to provide some support items to the beneficiaries as a form of pre-seed fund and investment to assist them start their business.
Key Outcomes
Distribution of the Support Items
The project team conducted a needs assessment to identify the needs and preferences of the beneficiaries. The team then made all the requirements needed to access funds allocated for the support, procuring, and distribution of the support items.
The distribution process was carried out at the Community Centre of Asamang in collaboration with community leaders, who were present at the event and also served as witnesses to the submission of the support items.
The team successfully submitted the support items to 20 beneficiaries who Graduated from Cohort 2 of the Community Green Economy Project by Recycle Up! Ghana.
The items included Ten (10) bags of rice brand, Twenty (20) bottles of mushroom seeds, Five (5) metal barrels, Five (5) shovels, Twelve (12) rubber bands, Three (3) Large-Size Cauldrons, Six (6) of 25 litres of palm kernel oil, Eleven (11) sets of soap additives, Two (2) sets of packaging containers, Three (3) mortal, Three (3) pestles, Two (2) pans, Twelve (12) bags of potash, One (1) Soap Shaping board, Snails and Snail structures.
Speeches
Executive Director of RUG - handed over the support items to beneficiaries and also gave some words of encouragement to the beneficiaries as they started their journey of entrepreneurship.
Assembly leaders - Encourage the beneficiaries to make effective use of the support items provided to them and to always maintain unity among them. They also elaborated on the importance of commitment to their business to set an example for the community members and other communities to follow.
