This project is aimed to provide literacy education for 100 adults in Ghana. Students learn how to read and write in both English and Ghanaian. They are also taught basic math and health skills.
There is no free access to computers in Ghana. Therefore many people in the area do not complete, or attend school. They seem been ignored in our society and this changing world. They find it difficult to identify the English alphabet and even the local dialect. A lack of basic health, and banking information presents a big challenge.
The creation of a community center will provide education for parents and youth who would not ordinarily have the chance to complete school. We will use this community center to teach English, math, and health classes.
This program strives to provide the knowledge that can improve people's health and social conditions, as well as change attitudes, increase self-esteem, and increase a sense of belonging within the community.
