Wildfires in Colorado have displaced tens of thousands of people and destroyed nearly 1,000 homes across Boulder County in less than three days. All donations to this fund will support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in Colorado. Your donation will go to vetted nonprofits providing food, water, and shelter to communities in need. This fund will remain open into the new year and support the most impacted of local communities.
Wildfires fueled by high winds have swept through areas in Boulder County, Colorado since December 29. Thousands of people have been displaced from their residences, with the fires destroying more than 1,000 homes. Firefighters have been working around the clock to control the flames but wind gusts and drought-like conditions have made the region particularly susceptible to the blaze.
All donations to this fund will support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in Colorado. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs emerge, we will support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in the impacted area(s), particularly those working with low-income, historically underserved communities.

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
