We would like to share with you how your support made it possible for Global Smile Foundation (GSF) volunteers to provide life-changing cleft care during our April mission to Lebanon.
Together with GSF-MENA, our volunteers performed cleft surgeries for 26 patients, as well as 15 Speech Therapy sessions and 10 Nutritional Consultations. Karim, pictured above, is one of four patients who returned for cleft palate surgery after having had a cleft lip repair during our mission in November 2020.
Healthy smiles are essential for healthy lives. Your donation has a direct and immediate impact for underserved patients by providing free comprehensive cleft care so that they can live without the great burden of untreated cleft.
In Lebanon and the Levant region, we work with several NGOs to reach patients, especially those who have been displaced from their home countries due to ongoing violence. These organizations include UNICEF, United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), Doctors Without Borders (MSF), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
