Clean water for the community

Clean water is a very vital commodity for a healthy society, as hygiene is enhanced and wateborne diseases are greatly reduced. In realization of this, Sheepcare Community Centre is committed to providing clean water for the Soweto Slums; Naironi-Kenya. This was driven by the number of waterborne diseases cases in the socity and the poor hygiene, as open sewers were so rampant in the community, some could even use the sewerage water to use in their homes as their was lack of water. By the support of donors we managed to dig a 600ft community borehole to provide water for the community. This brough a sigh of relief to the community, this was witnessed by the huge number of people who could qeueu to fetch the water and our institution. 

The number of waterborne diease cases have been greatly reduced, this is due to the report from the local community hospital, and the hygiene condition  in the community has been upgraded. We are moved by the number of people who travel a quit distance to come and fetch water, and we are looking forward to do domestic water supply using pipes to their doorsteps to save them of walking long distances for this commodity.
