Dear Supporters,
The results are in—since the installation of the new water pump and tank, the Entebbe UMEA Primary School has reported a decrease in absenteeism from parasitic diseases and diarrhea. Given this coincides with our water project we can directly attribute to the installation and maintenance of clean and safe drinking water for every student every day. Thanks to your continued generosity, we have been able to improve water and sanitation for all 1,367 school children at the sschool.
When we embarked on this project we hoped that we could not only provide clean water, but also improve student health and quality of life so they could thrive academically. Thank you for making this possible!
We are continuing to provide training and resources to reinforce handwashing at the school. Our next big goal is to raise enough funds to improve the bathrooms for all students, and especially girl students to feel safe and comfortable. The current bathrooms are unsanitary and unsafe, creating an atmosphere of shame especially for girl students. Studies across the globe show that girl students are able to stay in school longer when they have access to adequate sanitation facilities. Please consider joining us and donate to this cause today! We hope to raise $10,000 by the end of the year, which will allow us to complete the project.
In solidarity,
The Tender Grassroots Team
