Our campus has large, open spaces we utilize for our classrooms. We provide a project-based learning environment with makes the large spaces more conducive to our method of teaching. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to re-think how we can serve our students in a safe, person-to-person manner. Our Zoom classes took us through mid-March to end of May. But, our neurodiverse population needs to have the in-person community for social and educational to better serve their needs.
The necessary actions we must take to provide this safe environment will allow us to have our students back on campus in the fall and continue their educational and social learning. The items listed on our budget are recommended by the CDC and the TEA (Texas Education Agency) to ensure the safety of our community.
The materials we purchase will allow us to continue our classroom planning through the next year and into the fall of 2021, without additional budget costs or over-runs. The Plexiglas dividers and charging station will remain permanent fixtures. This will help us manage classroom space as we continue to grow and expand.
