Give the gift of Christmas this July by sending a care package to a family in need. The unexpected joy you will give these children can only be captured in their own words. Thus, we will include a return postcard with each package so that they can communicate with you. Total costs to deliver a package is $15 and will provide about $120 worth of food. An unexpected gift by Santa will bring a smile to any child.
While Japan is a very modern country, the nonprofit sector is relatively small. This means that those in need have few options to turn to when seeking food assistance.
We are working to create a new public asset for the community: a food safety-net. We envision a society in which anyone in need can access food assistance in their own community in a way that makes sense to them.
We all benefit when everyone has access to enough, safe nutritious food. Children study better. Families worry less about how to feed their children. And the elderly do not need to choose between food and other necessary expenses such as rent, utilities, or medical assistance. Our communities benefit because more money can flow to business from these households through the savings in food expenses. And equally important, our environment benefits from not destroying food.
