We have been very busy during the past months finding ways to improve the health of the children in Venezuela.
It has been hard during the coronavirus pandemic since many of our programmes have been halted, as in country restrictions make them impossible to operate.
Lockdown in Venezuela is starting to ease, and many economic activities have resumed, travel is restricted every other week and schools are planned to start in March. This will hopefully allow us to start planning and deliver our remote health programmes in the coming months.
In the meantime, we have secured a partnership to deliver a container of 110 paediatric wheelchairs. Our partners in Venezuela have a list of more than 120 kids across the country waiting for a wheelchair. We are hoping to raise the funds to fill this container by mid 2021 and distribute it, during the last trimester of this year.
With the help of the funds donated through GlobalGiving platform to our Healthcare programme we will be able to pay for the costs and the delivery of some of the wheelchairs that will fill the container.
The cost and delivery to Venezuela of a paediatric wheelchair is approximately 400$, with your contribution we have added 5 chairs towards our target.
We hope that through the gift of mobility we can transform the lives of these children and their families.
Thank you for your trust and support. It makes a difference in the lives of the children of Venezuela.
