This project will provide children of need in the West Bank and Gaza a Blanket, Jacket, Denim Pants, Thermal Under ware, Shoes, and Socks. These items will be distributed in the month December annually. The months of December, January, and February are very cold in Palestine. These items will help ensure that children are warm in these months and in particular they have the proper outerwear for schools. Most young children do walk to school.
The cost of living in Palestine (West Bank and Gaza) is more expensive than the USA and yet wages in the West Bank and Gaza is very low. Many families do struggle with the cost of education for their children. In fact, many teachers do hold second and third job to provide for their children. Many parents are laborers and they have no job security. They might be employed for a day, a week, or a month, but nothing is guaranteed. Job security is ZERO.
This project will ease the financial burden many families face at the beginning of each school year. Many families have three-six children attending schools at the same time. Most are struggling putting food on the table. Providing these families with basic school supplies to their children will ease such a financial burden. These items will help ensure that children do have the proper outerwear to walk to school. The months of December, January, and February are very cold months in Palestine
Keep children in school. Provide a second income to families by working in these sewing factories. Give hope to those who cannot afford the high cost of living in the West Bank and Gaza. Helping poor and needy families with a backpack and supplies will ease such a burden on certain families. Additionally, having the backpacks made locally will help employ wives who are single parents. Lastly, we are partnered with the Middle East Children Alliance where we have good leadership in all Palestine.
