When you give to HRI, you provide a single mother with nutritious food and basic medical care for her malnourished child. Your gift will also provide business training for the mother so she can support herself. Food scarcity sometimes pushes mothers to give up their children - which is a huge trafficking risk. We provide immediate relief and a viable long-term source of income - but we need your help.
At HRI, we don't give hand-outs; we give hand-ups. We help ignite the innate power of each mother to provide for her children, working with her until she can become self-sustainable. You will answer her prayers by saving her child and restoring her dignity as she will finally be able to provide for her young child.
Without you, there is a high probability the malnourished child will be trafficked by the mother to an orphanage or distant family member. Driven by a lack of options, mothers think they are providing a better life for the child by putting them in a place where they will have a constant source of food. But in reality, the children are given over to a life of lack, exploitation, complex trauma and continuous suffering.
HRI breaks the cycle by providing children with immediate support while also working with parents to provide targeted education on nutrition, sanitation, parenting, and financial management. All our programs work together to fight childhood malnutrition and to change lives forever. Child trafficking resulting from malnutrition is a complex problem, but our holistic approach is sustainably addressing it at the root and improving lives forever. This holiday season we have the chance to help save hundreds of children. Will you save just ONE?
