Our children began their first term of school on February 6, 2023. It was a thrill to see them in school, and it was only possible due to your help.
We have four candidates this year who are prepared to take their UNEB Uganda National Examination Board Exams. Three of our children will complete primary school (Primary Level), and one will begin her first year of high school (Senior 4).
One of our children who does was able to enroll in high school and is doing well. She finds the school environment to be extremely friendly and she is quite excited about the opportunity to be in school. Sheebah is a girl who is deaf and has never attended school as a result of her condition.
For Term X, all of our students in Candidate classes returned to class to prepare for their impending exams in November 2023. As a result of the skyrocketing costs of schools, we were compelled to concentrate on the kids we already had in order to sustain them in school. However, we are still dealing with the post-covid effects as a country, the financial situation of Uganda, from the start of school in the month of January, commodities of all kinds were high, and we also faced an increase in school fees, which hasn't decreased at all, because it is believed that schools are paying off some loans that they were unable to pay during the covid period because the country was locked. As a result, strain is put on the children's sponsors, parents, or guardian.
This year we have tried to look for alternative schools which are cheaper as we had earlier communicated but we weren’t able to succeed because the whole education system of Uganda has been wholly affected by the increase in prices. One of our long-term sustainable solutions for our child sponsorship project is to build our own school. We shall be communicating our strategies with you our sponsors.
We continue to extend Our sincere gratitude and value for your assistance, we would not have made it during this tough season, and thanks to your generosity. Networking is to your community will help increase our efforts and most importantly support more children in our community
