As we are at the start of the year 2021, as the project we are hopeful that this year everything will get back to normal so that our children may be in school.
Apart from the candidate classes that resumed October last year, schools have not been opened yet due to the current pandemic situation that has affected the world. As the project we hopeful and we are making our children ready for their next phase at school.
This January we have selected the most vulnerable children who will be joining school when schools open. The program will be taking on 6 children on sponsorship this year.
The photo below shows Esther a beautful and jolly girl who is going to step in class for her very first time, raised by a single mother from the Katanga slum along with 5 siblings. Esther is the only child who was born deformed that she cannot walk. And because of her situation, Esther's father who stays within the vicinity abandoned the responsibility to the mother who has solely taken care of Esther for the last 11 years. The mother earns $3 dollars that mainly feeds them and takes care of their rent. She says she has always admired to see her daughter in school but considering her state, the only schools that can handle her is expensive; she couldn’t dare to take care because of her poor financial position. Esther has never been in school before; it is going to be her first time in class that she can’t wait to start. Esther wants to be a teacher.
We want to say thank you to all our donors who chose to walk this journey with us. to make dreams come true for children like Esther and others who are going to start pursuing their dreams.
