The Girls' Leadership Council (GLC) has been spearheading a remarkable initiative in Cambodia to address the critical issue of Online Child Sexual Exploitation (OCSE). Last week, the GLC collaborated with World Hope International, to launch an awareness raising and campaign incubator program in Mondulkiri province.
Reaching out to 3 local high-schools, the GLC team educated 50 youth participants on identifying and reporting OCSE., brainstorming issues and causes related to OCSE and then prioritising the best ways to prevent OCSE. This series of workshops is actively empowering these youth to become Change Agents in their communities.
Through these highly interactive workshops, the GLC guided the young leaders to develop targeted, community-centric solutions using mind-mapping to define plans. This grassroots approach sparked the creation of 10 new campaign groups now equipped to multiply OCSE prevention efforts.
By fostering youth leadership and leveraging partnerships, the GLC has demonstrated a powerful model of sustainable, community-driven change - a shining example of how grassroots action can tackle complex social challenges.
