We had the incredible opportunity to join forces with Cabo Pulmo National Park on the “9th Children's Turtle Camp.” This beautiful community event was designed to give children an authentic experience of a turtle camp, while also promoting our mission of environmental education. When children connect directly with nature, they gain a deeper empathy and understanding of the environment.
Throughout the camp, we learned how turtle conservation camps operate, patrolling the beaches in search of tracks and nests. The children could smell the newly uncovered nests, watch the hatchlings emerge from the sand, and witness them making their way toward the sea under a starry sky—beginning their life journey. We spent the night camping, patrolling, learning, telling stories, and sharing delicious food.
It was also a privilege to meet seasoned “turtlemen” with years of experience in conservation, as well as those just beginning their journey in this work. We want to thank all the parents, teachers, civil society organizations, Cabo Pulmo National Park authorities, and volunteers who generously shared their time, work, and resources, all united by a common love for turtles, environmental education, children, and nature.
To each of you who have supported this project: thank you. Your commitment has made events like the Children's Turtle Camp possible, giving young people a life-changing experience in nature and fostering a passion for conservation.
As we continue this work with great enthusiasm, we invite you to stay involved with our Learning Center. Each day, the energy, curiosity, and passion of children, youth, and visitors inspire us. With your ongoing support, we can continue to expand environmental education and protect the remarkable places and wildlife of Cabo Pulmo.
Thank you for standing with us, and please consider renewing or increasing your support to help us reach even more young people. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our community and our environment.
