This project builds the capacity of ten primary school teachers at Ezo Primary School in Ezo County (Western Equatoria State Republic of South Sudan). The project will enhance the teachers skills in order to improve the immediate and long-term quality of teaching and learning at Ezo Primary School in Ezo County.
Lack of qualified teachers is one of the major constraints to the enhancement and expansion of educational quality and efficiency at Ezo Primary School in Ezo County. The 10 Teachers at this school need capacity building to improve their skills and teaching methods. Lack of qualified teachers also remains a major constraint to educational services and to effective planning, implementation, management and monitoring of educational programs in this County.
The ten teachers at Ezo Primary School have been requesting for capacity building and orientation in the following subjects: English Language, Professional Studies, Mathematics, Christian Religious Education, Science and Social Studies. HEEFO will therefore, conduct 14-day intensive training of the ten teachers in the aforementioned areas. The training will also involve teaching methods, child-centered methodology, lesson planning, school and classroom management skills, and monitoring, etc
After the successful training of the 10 Teachers the project will ensure availability and access to quality Primary Education and effective learning opportunities for the Primary School age children in Ezo County. The availability of the 10 competent teaching staff will increase the enrollment rates and retention of Pupils at Ezo Primary School. This will further increase literacy rate in Ezo County. This teachers' capacity building will also promote the acquisition of relevant skills in Ezo.
