Do you still remember the first day you went to junior high school? This is a new challenge to a child who is going to step in a new level in life!
To prepare our sponsored children are able to deal with the new stage, the Mustard Seed Mission conduct a special summer camp to them. In the camp, there is a breakthrough activity! Children have to achieve every goal of the activity to get a completion certificate! The certificate will be the mark of breakthrough and bring courage to them to face the new challenge!
In the breakthrough activity, children need to walk 7 kilometers in pair with one child's eyes covered. When children can't see, they will feel scared and helpless, so their speed were slow. Their teammate need to adjust their steps to take care of another teammate! The two children have to work in team to complete this challenge! During the trip, you can see children learn to deal with problems themselves, learn to understand others, learn to care other's needs, and learn to trust teammate!
In the activity, we let children to visit flood affected families. During the visiting, children have learned brave stories from flood affected families about how they rebuild their community! When kids saw the painted houses, knowing these houses were affected houses and having a new look after painting, they get courage in their heart and are able to looking forward to their future!
The 7 kilometers walking is not easy to children, but they made it! It will be a good memory and training for them to walk on their own path!
We invite you to support us again!
