We partnered with Aj cakes and pastries, a local baking company to equip our beneficiaries with adequate practical skills, and knowledge on cake baking, bakery and management.
A total of 25 LGBTQ persons selected from Rukungiri and kabale that we gathered are six lesbians, eight gay men, one bisexual woman, two bisexual men, four transgender women, three transgender men and one queer person.
During the meeting that was held at kabale inn, participants followed and observed the Ministry of health guide lines i.e., two-meter distance, wearing a face mask to prevent COVID_19 from spreading.
At the end our two days training, the 25 participants were grouped in five groups i.e., team A, B, C, D, E each containing five participants. Each group was scheduled with fixable weeks/months that they will be carrying out internships at their respective assigned bakeries i.e., groups A, B and C will are carrying out their internships at Aj cakes and pastries bakery, And D and E will are carrying out their internships at Candy bakery and all bakeries are easily accessible for participants.
MRF monitoring team will be visiting these bakeries to track the progress and challenges of our beneficiaries.
Best Regards.
