In Arica-Chile There are 164 children between 0 and 12 years of age who are cancer patients and come from families that are under the 40% poorer, do not have the resources to acquire 100% of drugs. They transferred to the Capital of Chile, where they receive treatment, the state only contributes with the transfer, hospitalization in hospital and part of the treatment, they must be between 6 to two years in that situation, a family accompanies them and they must contribute a 45% to cover the Reco
Children and their families are affected because they do not have the financial resources to cover 45% of the expenses in medicines, supplies, transfers and facilities in order to achieve their treatment and definitive recovery of their health. More complex the situation is made for those who have to accompany them between 6 and 2 years in the Capital to more than 3000 kilometers of Arica. Even worse if they do not have relatives where they are welcomed.It collect plastic caps to cover expenses.
The project will help, in part, to meet the needs described in the problem, because psychologically the families would face more optimistically the process of recovery and accompaniment their sons and daughters. At the same time, we will present the problem to the health and policy authorities of the region in order to increase the percentages of aid in medicines.
The project will directly help 164 children and their families. The project will alleviate the psychological and financial burden of the affected families. The families would decrease the collect caps plastic and increase the time and number of volunteers to this work.
