THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE LLANADITAS FIRST CHILDHOOD CENTER.
This project aimed to impact 300 children of the Early Childhood in the Llanaditas neighborhood, a vulnerable sector of the city of Medellin. At this time the centre serves 300 children from early childhood and more than 600 children ranging from preschool age to age eleven in the high school school cafeteria.
Las Golondrinas Foundation completed this project in April and there was a fantastic inauguration, so that the community were shown this space and ready to take care of it in the future.
Las Golondrinas Foundation now serves children in a space where they receive 4 meals a day to reduce the rates of malnutrition that exist in these vulnerable communities. Additionally, it offers them a pedagogical model where they learn to build projects that will help them to be more creative, free and happy children. Our aim is to build a space for dialogue, reconciliation and peace.
We hope these children will become keen builders of projects with an intelligent, proactive approach. The Early Childhood Center contains 12 learning rooms, a therapy room with dogs, two dining rooms, medical offices, a community office, two kitchens, a play space. Alongside these there are also other wonderful spaces, full of magic and beauty. Las Golondrinas are very grateful to all the donors who made this dream possible and would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their global giving donors who have helped them come so far to achieve this project.
