We are excited to share that we’ve acquired a piece of land on an island off Warri, where we plan to build our first Children’s Wellness Center. This center will be a safe, nurturing space dedicated to the health, education, and well-being of children, but it is still in the early stages of planning and development. While we are carefully strategizing the most effective approach to bring this vision to life, we want to ensure that the land remains vibrant and purposeful during this preparation time.
One of our immediate priorities is to offer local farmers access to part of the land to grow crops for their families. Life is incredibly difficult for many in Nigeria right now, and there is little to no support coming from either the federal or local government. The challenges are immense, and people need food security first and foremost. By providing local farmers with a space to cultivate their crops, we are offering both a practical solution to hunger and a means to begin building positive relationships within the community.
While our land is personally acquired, we understand the importance of fostering community buy-in as we work to reduce any potential hostility that may arise once our project begins. We know that any real change must begin with the people, and we want to ensure the local community feels supported and involved every step of the way. Helping these farmers with their immediate needs will not only provide them with sustenance but also create a foundation of trust and cooperation for the larger wellness center project when the time comes.
As we continue to plan and strategize, we remain committed to keeping the land fresh and active, providing immediate help where it’s most needed. This small step today will go a long way toward building a better future for the children of tomorrow.
