Hey there!
Just wanted to give you a quick update on our US Water Projects. First off, thanks for supporting this program at Poured Out! We are really excited to be able to serve communities locally with water tools to reduce costs and time needed to grow food for communities. It's super cool!
Second, we were able to provide some scheduled check ins with our two Michigan projects to help winterize the systems for the season. This is an important step that we don't do in Haiti because its hot there all the time! We have to empty out all of the water from the system, including the tanks and the gutters, to ensure that the pipes won't freeze and break over the winter. Next, we take apart a few fragile pieces of the system including our UV which cannot withstand the winters outside. Lastly, we make sure all our filters are looking good for next season!
I have attached a few pictures from our winterizing visit and wanted to let you know as well that thanks to some grant funding we will be completing another project in Michigan in 2024! We will let you know more updates as they come! Thanks again for your support of Poured Out!
