Dear Donor
Since our last report, the project has made progress, but not as much as planned. New challenges were popping up, but our local partner CFI managed to resolve the issues. We are behind schedule but moving forward. All families are now fully instructed and equipped to start breeding their flock of chickens.
What has been achieved since March 2023
During the last months, preparation work has been completed. All 20 families received training in running a small business and how to raise chickens. 10 families in the village Thmorkoul have built their chicken pens. Each family also received the breeding stock of hens and a rooster. The other 10 families in the village Ek Phnom will receive their pens and flock the second week in July. From now on - we have to wait and see. In a “non-industrial” environment, it takes about six months to bring the chickens to sellable weight. First however, the families have to make sure the hens are comfortable enough in the new environment to start breeding. I’m very much looking forward to sharing with you the project progress in a few months again.
