What do we need to build a School in The Cloud?
A few months ago, together with Robinson, SOLE ambassador in Pisamal, we created a project to find the financial ressources to start building a School in The Cloud (SOLE Lab - a community space where the neighbours of all ages can come together to learn how to learn) in the community of Pisamal.
We started this project with the Big Dream of building a facility in a community that already knows how to do SOLE (Self-Organized Learning Environments) and has used it to answer their Big Questions and support their community projects and entrepreneurships.
We, the SOLE Colombia team with Robinson and other neighbours, took together the decision to create a new project on the Global Giving platform to invite people all over the world to join and support this project.
The dream is still alive and the location to build the SOLE Lab is too (on the photos you can see part of the location, where the community wants to build the Lab). The community has the will, the energy and the perfect location for it, but without the financial ressources it is hard to continue with the next steps.
We have seen during the last weeks, that to achieve the goal of $50,000 USD (or even to reach a 10% of that goal), it is necessary to have the support of someone else on the team, who has the time to activate this project on social media, tell the story to different kind of people, look for new donors and mantain the communication between the community of Pisamal, the donors and other allies (Robinson and his community have the time, but they need someone who speaks English to support them on Global Giving).
At the moment we are a very short team and unfortunately haven't had enough time during the last 3 months to dedicate to this wonderful project. This is why we have started to look for someone who has the time, energy and passion for it. We haven't found the person yet, but we're not giving up the project eather.
Part of our plan is to use the next Bonus Day on July 18 to re-activate this project and start telling more people all over Colombia and the world that there's an awesome community in the middle of the mountains in the coffee growing region in Colombia, that is, not only dreaming, but also trying hard to build their SOLE Lab, their School in the Cloud, where everyone is welcome, no matter what age or skills they already have or don't have.
We invite you to tell other people about the awesome community of Pisamal and this beautiful project!
Stay tuned following us on our social media to help us spread rthe word.
Thank you!
The Community of Pisamal and the SOLE Colombia Team
