Dear Friends,
It was the start of the short rainy season when we visited Kiruru recently to see the progress that has been made by the community, with the help of your generous donations.
Despite the slightly damp weather, it was clear to see that good progress is being made with the building of additional classrooms, which will be used to help accommodate the 180 pupils now being taught at the school. The foundations have been completed, and work will continue apace once the weather permits it, which should be in early January.
The fantastic increase in pupil numbers at the school has also increased the administrative challenges the teachers face, so space for an office has been created next to the additional classrooms. This will also hopefully be completed in the new year, so attention can return to the completion of the teachers’ house.
The pictures attached to this report show the progress that has been made on the build so far, even in the slightly damp conditions! We look forward to updating you soon on the progress being made on the build. In the meantime, if you'd like to share this project with friends and family, to help us progress the building of the teachers’ house, to be able to educate even more of the children of the village, the whole community of Kiruru would be very grateful.
Many thanks and kind regards
Kirsten and the SVRG team
