Dear Friends,
It's an exciting report this time - the school has finally opened. As you can see from the pictures (taken before the opening) the building and first classroom were finally completed, with the generous support of you - our donors. We also connected the school building to our little solar power in the village. It was that which finally swayed the authorities. With a school building, and electricity, they decided it was good enough to commit a qualified teacher to. The school has been operating since March with one class. Since the community is having to pay the commuting costs of the teacher, their next priority is to build a staff house, before they continue with more facilities for the school and additional classrooms.
But this is a significant achievement - something which for this community was only a distant dream when we first met them two years ago.
Your generous donations help us support them in their ongoing work. As ever, if you would like to share the project link with friends and family, we and the community of the small sub-village of Kiruru in Northern Tanzania would be extremely grateful! Thank you in advance!
We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon!
Bernie
