One-Forty Project Report 2022 vol. 3

By Maureen Lee | Administration Personnel

One-Forty is a non-profit startup committed to SEA migrant worker issue. Our mission is “Make every migrant journey worth and inspiring”. We also believe every person deserves to dream, and every story deserves listeners. To accomplish our mission, we are devoted to empower them with required skills and trainings, so they can regain self-awareness and self-confident with clear visions and better lives. In the process, we also aspire to improve structural economic issues.

One-Forty School Online Platform
One-Forty’s audiovisual production team is responsible for planning, script writing, shooting and editing of the educational short videos. These videos are complemented by lively and interesting animations to meet the needs of young migrant workers who are more audio-visual learners. What’s more, we’ve also started online speaking lessons, writing Chinese words lessons this season, since many migrants workers are not working in Taipei, but through online lessons, they could still get the opportunity to learn.

Our Impact
Digital learning has reshaped how people learn and it has solved the problem of irregular days off for migrant caregivers, who can use their spare time to quickly absorb practical sentences in the videos and use them in real life, greatly reducing the language barrier upon their first arrival in Taiwan.
