One-Forty is a non-profit startup committed to SEA migrant worker issue. We are devoted to empower migrant workers with required skills and training, so they can regain self-awareness and self-confident with clear visions and better lives. We also curates various cultural events and engaging activities, to facilitate contacts, connections and empathy between locals and SEA migrant workers.
A Great Network of Migrant Workers in Taiwan
One-Forty is the first and only organization devoted to empowerment of migrant workers. We have access to a network of over 60,000 people across every county, creating a social safety net to assist them in the front line.
Systematic Instructional Modules
One-Forty creates our innovative tutorial materials in Indonesian including 5 offline courses from entrepreneurship to finance, 260 online videos and 1 correspondence course for rural areas. Our modules and experience could be easily duplicate in different languages and countries with migrants or migrant workers.
Our Impact
To date, over 1,000 women migrant workers have enrolled in Migrant Business School, learning to communicate in Chinese, starting their own business and exploring different careers such as becoming a novelist. According to our survey, after they went back to their home country, over 200 women either found a white-collar job or started their own business. They have become Chinese translators, administrators and restaurant owners etc., which earn an income 3 times more than the average wage in the area.
