Dear Friends,
There is a wise African Proverb that states, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” With this in mind we continue to see progress on the construction of our dining hall due to our combined collective efforts. Recently, we were again cited by the Ministry of Health. Although pleased with the ongoing construction, they advised us to place a temporary roof on our in-progress facility. This would allow the students to gather, eat and enjoy their meals in a safer and healthier environment. We quickly complied and received permission to continue our construction.
Our dreams of building a dining facility continues at a slower rate, but we are making progress nonetheless. When we first dreamt of Ikirwa School we looked to the families in the surrounding villages to come together and help us physically build our classrooms. But it is your generous financial support that buys the materials with which we are building this dining hall and library complex.
Completion of this building is key to the financially sustainable future of our school community. Please continue to help us make our dining facility a reality.
Ahsante sana,
Rose Hogan
